Students at Inka Samana Education Project, Ecuador

This indigenous community school in Inka Samana operates in three languages (Kichwa, Spanish and English) and works with the Saraguro in the following ways:

General missions:

To offer academic excellence with the intercultural education trilingual sustainable by the Saraguro natives and other people,
To constitute a research center and cultural rescue,
To create a system of communitarian life.

Specific objectives:

To offer trilingual education and an atmosphere of practiced indigenous values to children and adolescents,

To use kichwa as the communication language and learning,
To offer a relaxed therapeutic atmosphere to support the students,
To enable professors, students, parents and public generally,
To establish a research team of cultural systematization,
To maintain and develop the cultural values, by means of activities such as textile factories, jewellery, hat shop, pottery and arts,
To facilitate and recreate music, dance and indigenous choreography,
To document oral literature,
To increase productive, cattle, artisan agricultural projects and of commercialization within the Educative Unit,

To integrate the family, community and organization in an active form,
To offer a multipurpose baccalaureate.
