The SINTRAL Network of Ecuador focuses on both human and economic development. Economic issues include providing adequate and healthy food through organic agriculture, conservation of farmland, provision of clothing and housing, natural medicine and commerce through alternative economy. This network has been facilitated by Mauricio and Rebeca Wild who for many years operated the Fundación Educativa Pestalozzi in Ecuador. In 1995 Mauricio Wild was named an Ashoka Fellow for this innovative work in education. Rebeca Wild is the author of several book son education including "Raising Curious, Creative, Confident Kids: The Pestalozzi Experiment in Child-Based Education".
