2008.08 - Elegance Medical Centre and Kimpemba Medical School Request

The Kimpemba Medical School and Elegance Clinic, 80 kms from Inkisi in D.R. hopes to build a practice clinic attached to the nursing school. This region is extremely under serviced in terms of medical services for the population and developing medical expertise in the population and operating a clinic are much needed.

2008/07 - SUN for LIFE Request

Since 1997, Sun for Life has worked to prevent desertification and malnutrition in Madagascar by replacing wood and fossil fuels with solar ovens. Sun for life also works towards finding crops to reforest Areas of Madagascar with permaculture solutions such as trees that produce edible crops.

2008/08 - Albadi Social School Construction Request

Albadi is a place for orphans and vulnerable children. This is an application for a grant to enable Albadi to complete the rehabilitation and improvement of classrooms that were started in 2007. At the moment the rooms still have earthen floors which allows parasites to get into the feet of the children. Requested: $7,750

2009.02 - Complexe Scolaire Lemba Imbu Request

Lemba Imbu School is a primary school for boys and girls who are without social, financial or other restriction. It provides a great service to the local community which, owing to the geographical and economic conditions, is also undereducated. With a population of over a 16,000 inhabiting a nine villages area, the region has more than 6,000 children who have to go to school each year. Requested:
Running of the school: $9,597 USD
Infirmary: $6,582 USD

Pledged: $8,040 for the school ($1,557 still needed)
Pledged: $6,852 for the Infirmary (100%!)

2009.02 - ICDP Colombia Request

2009.02 - Yayasan Tambuhak Sinta (YTS) Request

2009.03 - Yenge Clinic Request

La Clinique Yenge (Yenge Clinic) will be responsible for delivering almost 20 thousand vaccinations this year. This sort of preventative step saves hundreds, sometimes thousands of lives. Yenge already has the medicine, but still lacks the funds to get it to the people living in remote districts. ZOLA Ferdinand is asking for $1700 (USD) to purchase a motorbike to make this programme possible.

2009.10 El Refugio request

El Refugio Corporation is financed through jewellery-making courses carried out in the CACMA centre in Bogotá, Colombia. The trainers’ salaries, teaching and technical material, and administration costs (transport, paperwork, accounting etc.) is financed through the sale of jewellery from the “YouthSmiths” (Jóvenes Orfebres) project. This request is to help finance a permanent sales outlet.

2009.12 YUM Microcredit for Women in Kalimantan Cooperative request

Due to the change in Indonesian microcredit law YUM has been forced to halt its microcredit project in Kalimantan. Considerable work has now gone into the redesign and improvement of the microcredit project.

This request from YUM is to reëstablish its microcredit coöperative in Kalimantan.

2009.12 Yenge Clinic Wall request

SD Democratic Repubic of Congo (DRC) and Yenge clinic are requesting the help of the SD Network in the contruction of an urgently needed wall around the clinic building, the wall is needed to protect the patients and staff of clinic, ensure that outsiders to not jeopardize the safety, security and good reputation of the clinic management. Requested: $8770.70 (USD)

2010.02 Fundacion Amanecer: Colegio Nuestra Señora de Fatima

2010.02 Tierraviva Request

Tierraviva is a project which works in Buenos Aires and several other provinces in Argentina to improve the conditions for mothers incarcerated with children under 4. Tierraviva also advocates for the rights of inmates at prison, regional and national level, using dance, drama and other techniques to improve mother-child relationships and encourage a transformative process among the inmates.

2010.05 Tierraviva request for prison project in Uruguay

Tierraviva has renewed contact with  El Abrojo, which works with children and families in Uruguay. The two organisations propose to work together on a project concerning mothers and children in prison. The idea is to offer an “Art and Awareness program for mothers and children in prison,” to be implemented via the Ministry of the Interior in Uruguay.
